Nothing like a swim to ease my worries May 18, 2008
Posted by ctytri Egoscue Method, Helpful Tools, SwimI slept ALL DAY yesterday and restless all night again last night - woke up cranky, back pain, not ready to face the day. Spent 20 minutes on Egoscue Stretches for the back then slowly pulled it together and went to the gym. Salt water pool, yea! Got 30 minute swim at a decent pace - my heart rate monitor must be off because it says my average HR was 62! Don’t think so.
The Egoscue and swim were good for my body, good for my mind - I took awhile to get dressed in the locker room, spread all my stuff out, watched a AAA commercial on TV mindlessly and used a new cream my mom gave me for muscle stimulation and pain relief: CM Complex Skin Cream from Nikken - don’t know anything about it or the company but it does feel soothing and it smells O-K, a little like winter-green. Am I an old lady now and I just don’t care? (Old has nothing to do with age, just a state of mind!) My daughter thinks it smells like Oreos. Child after my own heart always thinking about sweets!
Now that I’m done I feel more adjusted, centered, and like I could choose to have a good day!
NOTE: Just read this article from the home page and I am considering that I might be over-trained; so if I am what do I DO about it three weeks out from a race? REST REST REST - I think I am sensing a theme here . . . REST!
